Know What You Want
What do you want to do with makeup?
It is important to answer this question. Once you have an idea you can start looking for things that will help you achieve your vision.
There are a lot of things you can be going for when you apply makeup.
So what do you want to get out of it?
Is it…
- just for fun
- artistic expression
- day to day/work appropriate
- night on the town
- just want to enhance a few features
Keep in mind what you want to use it for, and that you should do whatever you like best-not what someone else thinks you should do.
Are you having trouble with any particular applications, color selections, not sure what brushes to use…?
I’d say a good way to start out is to try out drugstore brands to get a feel for things and see what you like before spending too much on higher end stuff.
Watch YouTube tutorials from people whose style you like.
Try searching beginners makeup and usually techniques and such will be explained more thoroughly.
