My Daily Makeup Routine

Posted by in Makeup

I usually just wear: concealer, eyeliner, mascara, and lipstick. Concealer is a little bit difficult to put on due to the dryness. I’m using Almay Clear Complexion Concealer because it’s honestly just the cheapest one I could get at CVS! I’ve had the most success with putting on a medium-to-thin layer of moisturizer. If you use a layer that is too thick, the moisturizer will start to “gum up” and look like patchy skin. Essentially, the makeup won’t stick to your face if you have too much moisturizer on. However,…read more

As A Byproduct

Posted by in Fashionable

We, well most of us, can pcik up a leather item and look at it and think it looks nice. I can do that, but when I found out about the whole leather/meat industry I was put off for a while. If you love leather you should know what you are getting into. Leather is a byproduct of the meatpacking industry. On a lot of hides, especially fullgrain hides, you can see some small scars that the animal accrues over time. However, The really high-end calfskin comes from actual calves,…read more

All the Beauty Without the Makeup

Posted by in Makeup-free

So I agreed to a no makeup challenge for a month! I know this seems like an eternity to go makeup free, and the first couple of days were hard. I cheated and used a few extras like bb and tinted moisturizer during that week, but that is our little secret. For those with a less extreme approach, these tricks could be useful for days you give your face a makeup break. What I learned was: As the last step after moisturizer and sunscreen, I use face oil as a…read more

On Beauty Blenders

Posted by in Makeup

I am planning on buying a beauty blender this week because I’ve heard such great things about them from people that I trust! I’m super excited to give it a try myself! I searched for any info on these and was unable to find a whole lot beyond which beauty blender to buy. I’ve already decided on that, so I’m going to share what little bit of information I have collected: It’s primarily used for foundation/concealer, but you can also use it to blend out anything else. It especially helps…read more

A Guide to Women’s Boots

Posted by in Fashionable

Boots, Boots, Boots, A Guide to Women’s Boots! Now that the cold is finally setting in for most of us, and since we’ve been getting a lot of questions about boots, here’s a boot guide! Some notes before I go on: this is not a comprehensive guide by any means! I welcome any input that you may have, so please add it in the comments and I’ll edit the post as we go. This is also not a guide on boot care, but here’s a link that explains it better…read more

Make A Face Look Fuller

Posted by in Makeup

What we are going to talk about today is contouring. This is a really important technique to learn, and the sooner you have, the sooner it will allow you to make your face look fuller. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m no pro, but I’m confident that I have spent enough time fiddling with my contour to make me look rounder. First I just intuitively splashed my white highlight into the hollows. Definitely immediately see a reduction in depth. Now I’ve got the idea that if I do my contour…read more

Practical Leather vs. Fashionable Leather

Posted by in Fashionable

I certainly will never own a motorcycle, so I don’t really require something that will literally save my delicate skin. Yet I see a lot of designer jackets filling the market now. And maybe with the thinner/less badass leathers comes a more flattering silhouette, which matters more to a designer than it’s ability to withstand pavement? The expensive designer jackets are all about the brand and the design. If you really want a quality, durable jacket then there’s no reason to go beyond Schott, Vanson, Lost Worlds, Aero or any…read more

You May Not Know It

Posted by in Body Image

I have a lazy eye. It isn’t that bad, but even a little “lazy” can show up if I am not careful on how I apply my makeup. What this means is that my eyes are not symmetrical. One looks normal and the other is sort of well, lazy. For me doing a winged eye seemed impossible until I really sat down and expirimented. Now, so you don’t have to. Here are some things that you might want to try to “open up” the lazy eye: Curl the smaller eye’s…read more

Pure Magic Is The Easy Stuff

Posted by in Makeup

This is such a dumb one. So here goes I never really wore makeup untill I was an adult and every time I show a non-makeup person, or a guy, the wonderfulness that is an eyebrow brush they’re simply amazed. Just brushing my eyebrows and throwing on some mascara makes me feel ready to go outside. It’s simple but I didn’t know about it until waaaay to late.

Organize Your Makeup

Posted by in Makeup

Staying organized is one of the most important things about being incharge of your makeup. So how do you organize like a boss? Priceline do a really good organiser for about $30, but I bought it about a year ago and I am not sure if it’s still in stock. There’s also some good acrylic storage units on ebay too. EBay’s actually really good in dealing with things arriving damaged. You are entitled to a full refund if it is damaged, and if the seller drags their feet in giving…read more
